Introduction:

Nathan is a highly experienced engineer and engineering manager with expertise in rail systems, control command and signalling, and systems safety and assurance. Nathan also has experience working with clients on significant rail programmes in both the UK and Australia to develop, implement, operate, and maintain systems including the European Train Control System (ETCS) (On-board and Trackside) and other ‘Digital Systems’ technology.

Nathan has technical experience and detailed knowledge of rail systems from computer and electronic based systems, through to electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanical systems.

He has strong knowledge and experience of safety and risk management, with experience ensuring systems are developed, implemented, and operated in accordance with the required standards for safety, including safety law and regulations, industry standards and best practice (including EN50126, EN50129 and CSM-RA), as well as client specific safety requirements. This includes experience of risk assessment and evaluation, safety/hazard analysis techniques, the development and implementation of safety requirements, and safety V&V.
