Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport
Providing Engineering, Design and Assurance Management services to support the Concept Design for the SMWSA Project.
Scope :
Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport will open in 2026 to link the new Western Sydney International Airport with existing transport hubs, as well as support the development of the Western Parklands City.
The project is currently in the Concept Design phase, with the Station Boxes and Tunnelling design soon ready for RFT, and the SCAW and SSTOM packages in full development.
CWG provides the role of Senior Manager Engineering Assurance to provide a link to the Mott Macdonald EDS assurance and technical team, as well as to manage elements that are not in EDS scope (such as the interface with the organisations delivering the airport).
The primary goal of this engagement is to drive successful completion of NAC gates and other
SM governance processes by:
- Demonstrating that all reasonably foreseeable hazards have been identified and eliminated or controlled SFAIRP, with a clear supporting safety argument.
- Preparing evidence of a standard to justify to the SM NAC that the project has successfully developed a design and supporting requirements that will enable the successful delivery of SMWSA by others in later phases.
