Sydney Trains - Electrical Isolation Improvement Program (EIIP)

Two key challenges that Sydney Trains is faced with includes the accommodation of more efficient maintenance regimes for rail corridor assets to maintain safe operation as well as the reduction of the impact to customers when a power outage is required for the recovery of stranded passengers in the rail corridor in emergency type situations.

The EIIP aims to address these challenges with an approach to improve the main areas of concern across the end-to-end lifecycle of the electrical power outage process. The key objective is to deliver faster, smarter & safer electrical power outages on the 1500V Overhead Wiring (OHW) and High Voltage networks. This is done through the delivery of capability changes in the Infrastructure, Business Technology and Process workstreams.
